Welcome to the website of Tyler Befus. Tyler has been flyfishing since he was old enough to sit in a baby backpack. Even though Tyler resides in the heart of Colorado's trout country he is also an avid warmwater and saltwater angler. He has fished extensively in the Rocky Mountains for trout and has traveled to Alaska in search of giant pike and sheefish, California for mako and blue sharks, Texas for redfish, the Midwest for bass and panfish, and Japan for yamame, amago, iwanna and sea bass.
He views flyfishing as an adventure and much more than just catching fish. It is Tyler's ambition to introduce more kids and families to the sport of flyfishing. He does this through his book "A Kid's Guide to Flyfishing" and by lecturing and speaking at numerous sport shows, clubs and schools around the country each year.
Not only is Tyler an accomplished fly fisher, but he is also a recognized fly tyer. His flies have appeared in flyfishing magazines and catalogs. He shares his knowledge of fly tying on the fly tying tutorial page of this site.
On this site you can order Tyler's book, learn flyfishing and fly tying tips, view his upcoming events schedule, follow Tyler and his family's flyfishing adventure through his blog page, or book him to speak at your next club meeting or banquet.
Flyfishing is away of life for Tyler and his family and he welcomes the opportunity to share his passion for the sport with you. Begin your adventure today!
The Fakey Nymph is one of my best producing trout and panfish flies.
