Today I spent the afternoon fly fishing the East River near Almont, Colorado for Kokanee salmon with my family. It was the first fishing trip for my 11 week old baby sister. We caught some nice Kokanee nymph fishing and the weather was amazing. There was not a single cloud in the sky and it was nice and warm. Most of the fish we caught were on a very simple fly I call the Bunjee Worm. It is just a piece of bright orange or pink round rubber leg material tied on a heavy wire nymph hook. I usually use a Tiemco 2457 size 12 for this pattern. I only caught one small brown trout all afternoon. It was not very big but had very pretty colors. There will not be many more days like this before winter shows up.
An amazing fall day on the East River near Almont, Colorado.

Here is a bunch of orange Bunjee Worms I tied up this week.
Here is one of the Kokanee I caught today.
My sister Ava is pretty serious when she is fighting fish!

Sometimes I have to help my sisters hold the fish for a picture because they think the fish might bite them!
Wow! Check out these crazy teeth.
It was fun to catch this small brown trout. It was hanging out with Kokanee and liked the small bead head stonefly nymph I was fishing.
