BLACK CANYON FLY FISHING SHOW, MONTROSE, COLORADO - WRAP UP!

Last weekend (the 14th of March) the Black Canyon Fly Fishing Expo took place. There were many things going on at the show including fly tying, programs, an amazing youth program, and a few casting classes and competitions. In the youth program there was a fly tying center, a not tying center, and a casting classes. There was a program also on how to get started in fly fishing, basic casting, and just what fly fishing is in general. My sister Ava, my friend from Gunnison Talia Oulton, and I performed the program. It was a great time teaching the youth that attended the program about this wonderful sport that I love.

I started the youth class off with a short PowerPoint program.

My sister Ava talked to the other kids about the different gear, gadgets and equipment we use to fly fish.

My friend Talia demonstrated basic fly casting with a yarn rod.

Then we took some of the kids outside and did a basic casting class. I think everyone had a great time!

As I said above there were many fly tiers there at the show, all showing off their techniques that they were using and all the flies that they were tying. Even my two of my sisters were there tying.

This Randy Stonebraker (on left) and Buddy Knight sharing some fly tying advise.

Here I am tying with my two sisters and my dad, "the Befus clan!"

This show really attracts a good sized crowd.
