Well, I am in Japan and having so much fun. I was the Tokyo area for a couple of days at my friend Masa's house. On Thursday we flew from Toyko to Kishiro on the north island of Hokiado. We are staying a the Emerald Hotel on Lake Akan. The Fly Fishing Festa starts today and I had a really fun time teaching elementary school kids about fly fishing and fly tying yesterday at the aquarium. Yes, I have been fishing a lot too. I fished Oshino spring creek the second day of my trip. I caught some rainbows, Iwanna (char) and one Yamame.
The last three days I have been fishing on Lake Akan. It is a huge lake formed from a volcano. There are really large white spotted char, rainbows and cherry salmon in the lake. Yesterday I landed about 15 char. I will write more later but for now here are a few pictures. I hope you enjoy them.
